I.FLY is a recreational Flying Trapeze and Aerial Arts program open to the public. It’s the only full-time program on Long Island open from April to October. We have the best job in the world and we want to share that experience with you! I.FLY instructors come from a variety of circus disciplines and have been trained specifically to teach you to fly whether beginner or advanced. They also have hospitality and entertainment backgrounds that aren’t only comfortably inviting, but create a fun filled atmosphere. Children can start flying at age 4 and adults should never stop flying at any age! Don’t let a little bit of fear ruin your curiosity for the unforgettable feeling of flying. Visit us…Together we’ll help make it happen. You’ll never forget your first time at I.FLY!

Most of our schedule is made up of “Open-All Level” classes in which all ages and levels are welcome (unless otherwise noted on the schedule). They are 1.5 hours but occasionally run a bit longer. Intermediate and Workshops for multiple weeks are also available. There are 5 to 10 flyers per class allowing for a good ratio of time for instruction, observation, and flying. First-timers will learn the timing and technique for a Knee Hang (getting your legs on the bar so that you can release your hands). You’ll also learn a back-flip dismount. When you succeed at that (Yes, you will), the second part of the class allows you the opportunity to swing at the same time as an I.FLY Instructor in an opposing trapeze, meet in the middle, and catch wrist to wrist…All in your first day!

Absolutely…Flying Trapeze is super safe! You are participating in a controlled environment wearing a harness, that’s connected to safety lines, that connect you to an instructor, while you fly over a giant net. With one instructor on the platform and another holding your lines and giving you direction while you swing, you’re in good hands. Our methods of teaching incorporate high safety standards and techniques. Constant equipment safety checks are ongoing by the staffs’ trained eyes while other maintenance is scheduled weekly and monthly according to requirements.

Please remember that like any physical activity, scratches, blisters, or aches are not completely unavoidable. Additionally, please let us know if you have any special conditions that may affect your safe participation in our program.
